ABOUT ME

I am a mother, educator, and advocate.

As a MOTHER of GCS graduates, I have made the education of my children a top priority, serving as a volunteer in their schools and as an active member of the Parent Teacher Association.

As an EDUCATOR, I worked in the ACES afterschool program at Pearce Elementary and supported classroom needs across the district when we have faced teacher and staff shortages. Additionally, I have served on the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Educator Support Professionals.

As an ADVOCATE, I serve as the Chair of the Legislative Committee for our Board of Education which collaborates and casts the legislative agenda for state and federal policies tat impact our schools.  We advocate for greater funding for our schools. I feel proud of what we have been able to accomplish over the last few years, including increases in the local teacher pay supplement, the district's minimum wage, and passing $2 billion in school bonds to fix our schools and make them safer.

WHY I AM RUNNING

I am running for re-election to represent District 6 on the Guilford County Board of Education because I still believe every child deserves a high-quality education. Our community is stronger when our children are doing well.

MY TOP PRIORITIES

  • Improving learning outcomes for ever

  • Recruiting and retaining high-quality teachers and staff

  • Investing in school safety and mental health programs

  • Addressing our critical facility needs
